TORTILLA GIANT IS HOT TO TROT IN UK US-based Mission Foods, tortilla and tortilla chip manufacturer, is opening its European headquarters and production facilities in Coventry Business Park, creating the most advanced factory of its kind in Europe. Over 200 jobs will be created as the company aims to expand its business for the first time outside of the US. Managing director, Nick Houghton, said the move coincides with the increasing popularity of Mexican food and the snacking opportunities created by tortilla chips. "The European market for tortilla chips has a way to go to reach its full potential. If you look at sales in the US, the market is fairly mature with tortilla chips representing a staggering 30% of the $40 billion salty snack market."
