Morrisons’ dominance of this award continues after being crowned Employer of the Year for the fourth consecutive year.
Despite a difficult 12 months at an executive level (and in terms of performance), Morrisons continued to ramp up the benefits for staff in groundbreaking, innovative ways.
The judges were particularly impressed by the retailer’s retirement engagement and structured training programmes, describing it as being “top class in terms of looking after its people and as a result its staff are genuinely happy”.
This year saw the launch of the Retirement Saver, a new type of defined benefits pension scheme alongside a wider personal finance training initiative, which was widely lauded as one of the more generous schemes on the market.
Other highlights included creating 7,000 new jobs and delivering 750,000 training days.
