A bulbous jar of mayo, a gluten-free pizza better than many restaurant alternatives, compostable coffee pods, and quirky tortilla chips flavoured with serrano chilli and Yucatan honey. These were among the panoply of innovative products celebrated at The Grocer New Product Awards 2017.
During a dazzling lunchtime event at London’s Marriott Grosvenor Square, guests from the fmcg industry saw The Grocer’s editor, Adam Leyland, and his co-presenter, comedian Iain Stirling, hand awards for winning innovation across 29 categories, with numerous other products picked from a shortlist of 135 to be highly commended.
The NPAs were “a fantastic showcase for innovation that is beautiful, funky, tasty, environmentally friendly, cleverly functional, delightfully retro and thoroughly modern” said Leyland. “Congratulations to all our winners, and to all the shortlisted products.”
