It currently houses a brand new £10m, 100,000 sq ft distribution centre and work is about to start on a £50m state-of-the-art dairy. Plans to relocate head office to the site are also being considered. Salkeld says the aim is to complete building and move into the site by 2004.
In addition, Arla is also considering opening a further distribution centre in the south of England within the next five years.
