The Tesco on Hurst Road in West Molesey, London, won our Top Store award this time last year for its superb customer service.
At the time, store manager Kevin Reilly said the experience of opening the five-month-old store had been hard, but rewarding.
When we called this week, duty manager Ian Bow said Reilly had since moved on to help improve struggling Tesco stores in Leatherhead, Surrey and Ashford, Middlesex. Reilly was replaced by Kiran Sudan, who worked in a unique part-time role, supplemented by deputy store managers.
Bow reported that sales were booming at the Hurst store, which he said Tesco had chosen to showcase a wider than usual mix of premium own label product lines.
