Jaipur Alcohol Free offered ‘vibrant grapefruit, aromatic pine, and zesty citrus’

Derbyshire brewer Thornbridge has added an alcohol-free version of its flagship Jaipur IPA.

The 0.5% abv brew replaces Thornbridge’s Zero Five and joins Green Mountain alcohol Free in the brewer’s booze-free lineup. It has launched via wholesalers including Euroboozer, Pigs Ears and Eebria, and is also available DTC (rsp: £1.90/330ml).

The brewer is also in discussions with grocers about listing the beer from next year, The Grocer understands.

Jaipur Alcohol Free offered “vibrant grapefruit, aromatic pine, and zesty citrus”, said Thornbridge. Its developent was the result of “significant time and effort” it added.

“The aim was to deliver a version that stays true to Jaipur’s spirit and the result is a beer that still showcases the iconic American hop flavours drinkers have come to love,” said the brewer.

“After the overwhelming success of Green Mountain AF, we knew we had to create an alcohol-free version of our flagship beer, Jaipur,” said Thornbridge CEO and co-founder Simon Webster. “Our brewers worked tirelessly to ensure it lives up to the high standards Jaipur is known for, and we couldn’t be happier with the results.”

The NPD comes as Thornbridge’s Jaipur IPA approaches its 20th anniversary. First brewed in 2005, the 5.9% abv ale makes up some 40% of Thornbridge’s production volumes.
