Consumers can now savour a traditional Jamaican rum punch from the comfort of home.
Jewel Isle Rum Punch is being launched into the UK off-trade in three flavours, Tropical, Pineapple-Ginger and Lemon-Lime. The 7% abv drinks, which are made from authentic Jamaican over-proof white rum blended with fruit juice, will be sold in 200ml bottles (rsp: £1.99 to £3.50) or 750ml (rsp: £7.99).
The creator, Anita Witter, decided to produce the drink after she received numerous compliments from friends about her rum punch recipe.
Her company, Jewel Isle Productions, carried out a trial through bars last October and shortly afterwards she was voted Entrepreneur of the Year by Black Business Initiatives Award.
Witter said it had been hard to meet demand for the product but she has a new bottling contract starting in May.
Halewood International is to launch a new cherry variant of its Red Square brand. Like the rest of the 70cl range, the 5.1% abv Red Ice (rsp: £2.49) contains triple-distilled Red Square Vodka.
Lambrini has signed a three-year deal to sponsor Pink Ladies, a brand of women-only private hire cars fronted by ex-Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona, as part of its Lambrini ‘Girls Don’t Drink and Drive’ campaign.
The Drambuie Pursuit aims to reintroduce the brand to new consumers, particularly 25 to 35-year-old males. The mental and physical team challenge takes place in the Scottish Highlands at the end of April.
Amaretto liqueur Disaronno, distributed by First Drinks Brands, is embarking on a new marketing campaign for 2006 with a fashion and style theme.
Batemans seasonal ale, Spring Breeze, is back in a bottled format from this month. The 5% abv pale ale, which goes by the name of Spring Goddess in the on-trade, will be available nationally through Sainsbury.
Grant Burge has launched Abednego (rsp: £19.99), an Australian wine blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre.
