Off-licence chain Thresher is to pilot a scheme that arranges bottles according to price and not region or origin or grape.
Part of the First Quench group, Thresher is to try the new style of display in 30 stores with a view to rolling out similar changes across its other 2,000 stores nationwide.
The group is also looking at the way it uses its chillers and how best to make the most of impulse buying patterns of consumers wanting to eat and drink on the hoof.
See next week’s issue of The Grocer magazine for more details.
