The Grocer’s popular weekly Focus On features will be coming to life at this year’s show to give delegates more detailed information about some of the hot topics in grocery retailing.
Four half-day seminars, on the morning and afternoon of Tuesday and Wednesday, March 21 and 22, will take an in-depth look into four important
food and drink categories - confectionery and snacks, soft drinks, dairy and world cuisine, with sponsorship from Masterfoods, Wyke Farms and Old El Paso. Each three-hour seminar, fronted by a senior member of The Grocer’s editorial team, will explore topics such as how the categories have developed, recent successes and failures and what lessons can be learned, product innovation, packaging, labelling and marketing techniques, and future category challenges.
Speakers will include buyers, retailers and wholesalers, who will be giving advice on topics such as category management, consumer demand and how to gain retail success.
The seminars will also deliver category data from market researcher TNS on the size of the market and major trends, as well as other presentations that will identify key future trends and the likely impact they will have on individual categories.
The seminars will end with a panel debate and question time. Delegates will each get a pack of three years’ Focus On features, plus a summary of the seminar.
