Tesco’s top media relations executive is to leave the company to join Barclays Bank.
Tom Hoskin has been at the retailer for six years, having previously been head of news and a deputy spokesman for former Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Hoskin, who also served as a senior PR man in the Foreign Office, said he would miss the “expertise, professionalism and lively discussion” in his role at Tesco, during which time he has had to deal with a series of crisis including the departure of Philip Clarke and the accounting scandal.
He will leave Tesco to take up his new job heading the Barclays media team in October.
