Shoppers have been told not to eat the affected products

Tony’s Chocolonely has recalled two of its Easter eggs as they may contain pieces of metal.

The recall impacts specific batches of Milk Chocolate Egg 242g and Milk Caramel Sea Salt Egg 242g with a best before date of June 2025.

The impacted batch codes of Milk Chocolate Egg 242g are: L0385D, L0415D, L3244D, L3254D, L3264D, L3274D, L3304D, L3384D, L3394D, L3404D, L3444D, L3454D, L3464D and L3474D.

The impacted batch codes of Milk Caramel Sea Salt Egg 242g are: L0355D, L0345D, L0315D, L0305D, L3544D, L3534D, L3524D, L3514D, L3484D, L3374D, L3344D, L3334D, L3324D, L3314D, L3234D, L3204D, L3194D and L3184D.

Point of sale notices have been issues to all retail stores that are selling the affected products.

The notices urge shoppers who have bought one of the affected products not to eat it, but to return the product to store for a full refund or replacement.

All other Tony’s Chocolonely Easter products (Egg-stra Special Chocolate Egg Box and Egg-stra Special Chocolate Egg Pouch) were “unaffected and safe to consume”, a spokeswoman for the brand told The Grocer.

It comes after Tony’s Chocolonely recalled two of its 180g tablets, Dark Almond Sea Salt and Everything Bar, earlier this week as they may contain stones.

The recall included Dark Almond Sea Salt tablets with the batch codes 162633, 162614, 163061 and 163472, and best before dates 28 February 2026, 2 April 2026 and 22 April 2026.

It also included Everything Bar tablets with the batch codes 4331, 433,2 4333 and best before dates from 26 November-28 November 2025.
