A single pint of beer is the top prize in a £2m autumn promotion for John Smith's.
This tongue in cheek No Nonsense Raffle is designed to underline the quality of the brand, as the second prize is a Caribbean cruise and the third is a Jaguar XK8.
To win, consumers have to send in ringpulls from promotional packs. In return they will receive raffle tickets for a draw which will take place live on Channel 4 in November.
Another draw will take place at the end of June next year when the big' prize will be a week for two at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. Scottish Courage will back the promotion with ads in The Sun and on national and regional radio.
The brand is the leading ale in the UK. The brewer said the Extra Smooth widget version is increasing volume sales 27% a year in a draught in a can ale market down 1%. The other variant, John Smith's Bitter, is losing volume by 8.5% but is performing ahead of the non-draught in can market declining by 14%.
The promotional packs will be in the off-trade from September to November.
