Frozen food manufacturer Dalepak plans to make a name for itself as a centre of excellence in food industry training through new extended in-house staff training facilities.
The north Yorkshire based company plans to encourage staff to take the courses to develop new skills which will help them move up the management ladder.
It is encouraging staff to use a dedicated on-site training centre to develop on-the-job skills in all disciplines by taking accredited courses.
Its proposals to boost its employee training programme have led to its being awarded accreditation as a National Examination Board in Supervisory Management Centre.
New programmes include a spectrum of leadership courses such as introductory team leader and team leader awards, as well as operational management and quality management programmes.
The new courses will be timetabled alongside NVQ programmes in food and drink manufacturing and administration, which were launched by Dalepak two years ago and recently achieved City and Guilds accreditation.
The company also delivers specialised stand-alone NVQ units in health and safety.
Carol Adams, training manager at Dalepak, said: "The NEBS accreditation is a welcome addition to the range of training courses that we deliver in-house. We believe in offering our employees every opportunity to take on new skills with a view to developing their careers and moving into management roles."
