Premier Foods gave its Cadbury Cakes portfolio a shake-up in June with new packaging intended to up its consumer appeal. The range, which is produced under licence from Cadbury, has been redesigned to unite all the products under one brand livery to create a more appetising feel, according to the company. The updated livery retains the iconic Cadbury purple colouring, but now also features foodie photography. As part of the changes, Cadbury Rich Choc' Roll was renamed Triple Chocolate Roll to highlight that every part of it is chocolate.



Organic sold as scrummy

Organic food brand Whole Earth entered the premium biscuit market last month with a range of organic choc chip cookies. Whole Earth's Organic Scrummy Cookies, which are made with butter and premium ingredients, come in three flavours: double choc & hazelnut, choc chip, almond & hazelnut and chop chip & orange. All are priced £1.79 per packet.



?Go on, dunk it

Bahlsen targeted dunking enthusiasts in July with an oval-shaped addition to its biscuit range. Dip It!, which is aimed at a younger audience of biscuit fans, has been shaped with quick and easy dunking in mind, according to the company. Available in Milk Chocolate Crispies and Choco & Choc Chip, Dip It! comes in a 200g pack.



Kate's gives a bit of a dusting

Sussex-based Kate's Cakes is introducing a festive treat this year: Berry Christmas Brownie. The bite-sized hand-crafted chocolate and cranberry brownie is sprinkled with a sweet sugar and snow dusting.

?Green & Black's gets into biscuits

Burton's Foods has secured a licensing agreement with Green & Black's for a premium biscuit range. The range includes flapjack biscuits in organic apricot & sultana and organic chocolate flavours. Both are covered with Green & Black's 70% dark chocolate. Cereal bars in organic fruit & nut and organic nut & seed flavours will also join the line up, and seasonal additions will be launched. For this year's festive season, the additions will be organic traditional shortbread assortment tins.



Divine new cake range

Divine Chocolate partnered Innov8ive Foods in June to launch a range of Fairtrade chocolate cookies, brownies and muffins that are made using Divine 70% Dark Chocolate.



?Fabulous cup cakes

Women who love the fabulous things in life were the target of a range of cup cakes launched by Sugar Plum, a new company set up by two former Mr Kipling employees. The premium range included ingredients such as green tea.



Single-origin gift collection

Manufacturer Paterson Arran unveiled a luxury limited-edition gift collection of shortbread rounds and soft cookies featuring single-origin chocolate from around the world under its Café Bronte brand. The company looked to Mexico for its first collection of cookies, with other countries set to follow.



Two additions to Burton's stable

Burton's Foods added two newcomers to its family favourites biscuit stable in May. Triple Chocolate Maryland Cookie returned after a two-year absence, while Jammie Dodgers Jam n' Custard replaced Vanilla Thriller.
