Real estate investor Tritax Big Box REIT has bought the Tesco regional distribution centre at Capitol Park, Goole, for almost £50m.
Developed in 2007 by Sterling Capital, the site, which sits next to junction 36 of the M62, is one of Tesco’s main regional distribution centres and a hub for distributing general merchandise, ambient food and beverages.
Tritax confirmed Tesco would continue to be the tenant, with 17.5 years unexpired on the lease of the facility. “At over 700,000 sq ft, it distributes general merchandise across northern England,” said Colin Godfrey, partner of Tritax. “The property is close to the East coast ports for goods inwards and has excellent road and rail connectivity.”
