Castle McLellan Foods scooped the Supreme Award in this year's Scottish Food & Drink Excellence Awards.
The Kirkcudbright-based supplier was named overall winner at the annual awards ceremony in Glasgow after impressing the judges with its premium range of pâtés for Waitrose. It beat off stiff competition from a dozen other category winners to claim the top honour as the awards celebrated their eighth year.
Organised by the Royal Highland & Agriculture Society of Scotland and sponsored by The Grocer and Scottish Enterprise, this year's revamped awards attracted 140 entries, more than twice the number enjoyed by its predecessor the Food from Scotland Excellence Awards.
The judges decided there should be no award in the two foodservice categories, Chilled/Frozen and Ambient.
The Grocer's marketing editor Simon Mowbray, who sat on the panel of judges, said: "The overall standard of entries was very high."
