The raised prices for hazelnuts - and for almonds - has increased demand for cashews over the past year and driven prices up by about a fifth year on year.

Dried apricot prices have come down from the peaks reached last year when supply was reduced as a result of frost in March that affected blossoming trees.

Despite the financial turmoil in the country, prices of Greek currants continue to fall as a result of plentiful supplies.
