East Anglian bakery group Two Magpies has acquired Hilton Macarons for an undisclosed sum.
Founded by James Hilton and Andrea O’Keeffe in 2019, Love a Taste Ltd, which trades as Hilton Macarons, produces handmade premium macarons, which are gluten-free and vegetarian.
It has won eight Great Taste Awards and developed more than 60 flavours over the past four years.
“We are delighted that Hilton Macarons will join the Two Magpies family and remain in East Anglia,” Hilton said.
“We have a solid wholesale business and a loyal online customer base, and we are very excited by the enhanced growth prospects for Hilton Macarons given Two Magpies’ significant high street presence across East Anglia, as well as access to the resources of a larger group.”
Two Magpies opened its doors in 2012 and today operates out of a central bakery and bakery school in the village Darsham, and owns 10 cafés across Suffolk and Norfolk.
CEO Steve Magnall added: “Hilton Macarons is without a doubt one of the best in this space and a perfect fit for us.
“This acquisition opens new markets for us and gives us an even greater presence in the gluten-free sweet market. We are pleased to have agreed the purchase and look forward to growing the brand.”
Operations director Yasmin Wyatt will lead the integration of Hilton Macarons into the Two Magpies group.
