Bottled water specialist Ty Nant has forged a new partnership with a Taiwanese tea producer.
The Welsh company is to use its distribution network to launch a range of ready-to-drink teas under the Lao Tsu Say banner.
The range, which has so far secured a listing with Harrods, is naturally brewed from green tea leaves grown in Taiwan and can be served hot or cold.
It is initially available in three flavours - Mint Green Tea, Jasmine Green Tea and White Oolong Tea - and comes either in single bottles or in limited edition four-packs.
David Relph, general manager for sales and marketing at Ty Nant, said: “Ready-to-drink tea is already hugely popular in many markets around the world, even outselling cola in some Far Eastern countries.
“But it has yet to really take hold in the UK despite tea being our most consumed hot beverage. We believe that a key reason for this is the lack of a truly authentic tasting product.”
