A spirit made in limited quantities from wild cactus fruit is being imported to the UK for the first time.
Tungi is the name for the cactus or prickly pears that grow on the remote island of St Helena. The spirit has a fruity nose and a smooth, distinctive taste.
It comes in an unusually shaped bottle, which has been designed to echo a famous landmark known as Jacob's Ladder - a series of steps that rise 1,000ft up a cliff above the distillery.
Tungi has an abv of 43.2%, will retail for £26.99 and should be served neat over ice or in cocktails, according to importer and distributor Provenance Marketing.
