Unilever has unveiled two new Magnum flavours “designed to satisfy different moods.”
The contrasting Magnum Pink Raspberry and Black Espresso variants will roll out at the end of January in multipack (rsp: £3.35/three) and single (£1.95) formats, supported by a £13m marketing push.
Designed to reflect ‘fun’ and ‘exuberant’ moments, Magnum Pink is made from raspberry-flavoured ice cream with a pearlescent chocolate coating, while the Black’s vanilla ice cream is laced with black espresso and covered in dark chocolate for ‘sophisticated’ times.
Sales of Magnum hand-held ice creams rose 10.3% year on -year to £147.4m [Nielsen 52 w/e 11 October 2014].
