The Advertising Standards Authority has ruled that claims made in Unilever's advertisements for its Flora pro-activ margarine are misleading.
The ASA received a complaint for a press ad for the product that said: “A spread that not only lowers cholesterol but also helps keep blood vessels healthy? What have you been eating?”
The ASA said that Unilever did not have enough evidence to show the effect that the product had on blood vessels and ruled that the claim “helps keep blood vessels healthy” was misleading.
