Unitas Wholesale has appointed Peter Burleigh as trading controller for the grocery category.
The business said Burleigh has a wealth of experience, accrued across numerous roles in the retail and wholesale channels.
During his career, he has spent over 25 years at Morrisons, holding the position of senior trading manager. He has also held high-profile roles at Sukho Group, WH Smith and Do It All.
Most recently he was appointed director for Fmcg Global, working on the Mulrines fruit juice brand.
It comes amidst a series of movements in the Unitas trading team. In August, it was revealed senior trading controller Jim Brown left to join Bestway.
Last month, the business also announced the creation of a new licensed strategy manager role, to be filled by former Booker spirits category manager Andy Stubley.
“I am delighted to welcome Peter to Unitas at such an important time in our development as we continue to reshape the organisation,” said Unitas MD John Kinney.
”Peter is a great addition to our business and has the skills and experience we are looking for to continue the development of the grocery category.”
Burleigh will join Unitas on Monday 21 November.
