Indian brewery United Breweries has reportedly acquired premium Scotch whisky and spirits producer Whyte & Mackay.
Reports in the Times of India suggest that the Glasgow-based company has been acquired for £400m. Citibank, Standard Chartered and ICICI Bank are believed to be funding the acquisition.
Whyte & Mackay makes a number of whisky and spirits products, including Whyte & Mackay, Isle of Jura, The Dalmore, Vladivar and Glayva.
