Wild venison from Forestry Commission sustainably managed woodlands has become the first meat to attain Forest Stewardship Council certification.
Rick Bestwick, which supplies independent retailers and butchers, agreed a deal with the Forestry Commission to feature the New Forest Marque on packs, along with FSC certification and the Forestry Commission logo. Further FSC-approved products, including diced game, wild boar and rabbit, are planned.
