Vincor International has acquired Western Wines Limited for £133m.
The purchase price for Western Wines, owner of the Kumala brand and the largest independent wine importer, marketer and distributer in the UK, was £84m.
Vincor, one of North America’s largest producers of wine and related products, also assumed £49m in debt giving an aggregate value of £133m.
Donald Triggs, Vincor’s president and ceo said: “This acquisition squarely meets our strategic objectives and greatly increases the scope and scale of the Company, moving us significantly closer to our goal of being one of the wolrd’s top-ten wine companies.”
