Isle of Man Creameries - a co-operative of 54 dairy farmers - is to cash in on the centenary of the island's annual TT Races motorbike race from 2 to 8 June with a limited-edition cheese.
The TT Centenary Vintage Cheddar will be available in major grocers and independents from the middle of next month until September.
More than 50,000 visitors are expected to attend the races. The cheeses - the brainchild of the Creameries' production team who are all keen bikers and TT fans - will carry a picture of motorcycling legend Joey Dunlop.
"Creating a vintage Cheddar involved some careful planning back in autumn 2006," said production manager Martin Barber. "We needed to pull to one side a significant amount of our current maturing Cheddar stock to enable it to mature further until it could be classed as vintage Cheddar, which is typically 18-24 month old cheese.
"We're confident the cheese will appeal to TT fans along with our existing loyal customers," he said.
