Unilever has given its core Vaseline lip therapy tins a vintage-style makeover.
The limited-edition packs, which will be available for three months, rolled out last week on the Original, Aloe Vera, (rsps: £1.45) Cocoa Butter and Rosy Lips (rsps: £1.93) variants.
Sporting a retro typeface and vintage-inspired artwork, each tin will carry ’Est.1872’ text to reflect the brand’s heritage, but remain the same colour to make them easily identifiable for shoppers. The launch is being supported by a PR, in-store and social media marketing campaign.
“The limited-edition tins are always incredibly successful among our consumers as they look for new and exciting products to add to their beauty portfolio,” said Vaseline marketing manager Fiachra Moloney. “The vintage packs tap the growing trend towards retro products with a nostalgic feel, and we expect the limited edition tins to encourage collectability, driving incremental sales into the category.”
