Landmark Wholesale's half-strength spirit brand Vodgrad has been rebranded as V*dgrad.
The change of name follows a High Court ruling against Vodgrad's direct rival, Intercontinental Brands' Vodkat. Smirnoff maker Diageo had argued consumers were misled into believing Vodkat was a genuine vodka. After the ruling, ICB renamed its product V Kat Schnapps.
"We felt Vodgrad's label needed to be refreshed, but of course were aware of the Diageo ICB case, too," said Landmark trading controller John Fergusson-Cooper.
