Waitrose has appointed Lizzie Conlon as its new innovation manager to help drive its product quality and innovation strategy.
Conlon joins the upmarket retailer in a new role that will see her work alongside and report to Waitrose executive chef Martyn Lee.
She will be in charge of building and developing the supermarket’s innovation strategy.
“I’m excited to join the team at Waitrose, which focuses on quality and cutting-edge innovation, and bring my own experience and knowledge to the table,” she said.
“Waitrose is known for its creative approach to food and strong sourcing credentials and I’m delighted to join such a passionate team.”
Conlon has previously worked for Tesco in areas such as food trends and product research, and she was a project manager for product development agency Tastehead.
She also worked for Thefoodpeople, where she dealt with a number of clients from retail.
She has a degree in food and nutrition from the University of Newcastle.
