A “small number” of Waitrose employees at its Bracknell distribution centre have tested positive for coronavirus and are currently self-isolating at home.
Waitrose did not confirm how many staff members had been affected, but said it was following guidance from Public Health England on the matter.
The supermarket said it had “robust” cleaning practises in place at the DC including additional deep cleans. Its overall absence levels were “well below” the those experienced in April and May at the site, it added.
“We currently have a very small number of Covid-19 cases across the multiple warehouses at our large distribution site at Bracknell,” said a Waitrose spokeswoman. “We are also in contact with Public Health England and have been rigorously following their advice and taking whatever action is necessary for the health and safety of our partners.”
