Waitrose is on target to reopen the 11 Somerfield stores it bought in January by the end of July.
The multiple is currently refurbishing three stores at Sudbury, Paddock Wood and Hythe and they are scheduled to reopen on May 24, 31 and June 1 respectively. Three others, at Sidmouth, Saltash and Worcester Park, will be completed by June 31.
Bill Bishop, head of selling services at Waitrose, said: "There is a lot to do over the next few months, but everything is going according to plan."
The outlets are between 20,000 sq ft and 25,000 sq ft and are indicative of the target size the multiple is trying to build on.
