John Lewis Waitrose Andy Mounsey CFO

Mounsey has worked in a number of senior finance roles during his 13 years at JLP

The John Lewis Partnership has appointed Andy Mounsey to the permanent role of chief financial officer

Currently holding the CFO position on an interim basis, Mounsey will take up the permanent role with immediate effect. He will also join the partnership’s board with immediate effect.

Mounsey has worked in a number of different senior finance roles during his 13 years at JLP, most recently holding the position of finance and strategy director.

He took over from outgoing CFO Bérangère Michel in September last year, who stepped down from her post after 16 years with the business to pursue her “future career options outside of the partnership”.

Mounsey will join the partnership’s executive team from July and officially take over from Michel on 6 September.

“Andy’s contribution as interim CFO has been invaluable, and it’s great to have him as part of the team,” said group chair Jason Tarry.

”His deep understanding of the partnership and the retail sector, combined with his extensive experience in various senior finance roles, makes him ideal for this position. I’m confident Andy’s leadership will be instrumental in driving our financial strategy and ensuring the long-term success of the partnership.”

Mounsey said he was “honoured and excited to take on the role of chief financial officer at such a transformative time for the partnership”.

“We’re seeing solid progress in our key financial metrics and continued improvements in customer sentiment,” he added.

“The partnership is in strong financial health and stepping up investment this year for customers and partners. I look forward to working with the entire team to build on this progress and ensure the long-term financial strength of our unique business.”
