Waitrose has recalled batches of its exclusive Zoe Daily30+ 7 Day product over concerns it may contain small stones and traces of metal.
The grocer has issued a recall notice for batches of 112.5g packs of the supplement mix dated best before 30 September 2025.
The notice, issued via the FSA, warns customers not to consume the product and return affected batches to their local Waitrose store.
“We apologise that it has been necessary to recall this product and for the inconvenience caused,” Waitrose said in the notice.
Waitrose is the only retailer affected, as it stocks the product exclusively. However the recall of “certain batches” will also affect some of Zoe’s direct to consumer customers, a Zoe spokeswoman confirmed.
“We are issuing a recall of Zoe Daily30+ wholefood supplement due to the potential presence of foreign matter,” the Zoe spokeswoman said. ”We are acting out of an abundance of caution to uphold our high quality standards. The issue was discovered at one of our critical control points in the supply chain.
”We take product quality very seriously and are initiating this recall to address the issue promptly and effectively. Customers will be given the option to have their order refunded or replaced.”
The product launched into Waitrose into June 2024, amid much fanfare. Waitrose regularly pushes the supplement – which is designed to be sprinkled on food and contains 30 plants and 35 different types of fibre – as one of its innovative new brand partnerships, with dedicated standalone bays in stores. The line is also available as part of the Waitrose meal deal.
Having been founded as a personalised health app by nutritionist Dr Tim Spector in 2022, Zoe has been steadily expanding its presence in grocery, which also includes a branded gut health shot stocked exclusively at M&S.
However, recently the company has struggled after a period of rapid expansion. It’s led to a series of proposed redundancies, including in October. It has also halted its search for a new office, and stopped developments at its US warehouse.
