Waitrose has rolled out a digital parking payment option at 14 of its car parks across the UK.
Users of the Flowbird Smart City app can book their parking session on arrival and receive a notification when it is due to end, with the option to extend their stay if they need to.
Waitrose customers can also redeem their parking fee when their shopping exceeds the in-store spend threshold by showing the app at checkout. They can also get a physical receipt if they paid with cash.
“We are very proud to work with a respected retailer such as Waitrose to improve the shopping experience,” said Danny Hassett, MD at Flowbird Smart City UK. “Thanks to Flowbird’s solutions, Waitrose’s customers can now pay for parking with apps, card and cash – so there’s an option for everyone.”
The app is now available to use in 14 stores across the country, including Alderley Edge, Balham, Guilford, Monmouth and Peterborough.
Flowbird said customer feedback so far has been “positive”, with users stating they value the flexibility of the cashless payment method as well as the ability to top up their parking if needed.
