Waitrose has launched a website dedicated solely to pet products.
WaitrosePet.com, launched in partnership with online retailer Monster Pet Supplies, offers more than 9,000 products, including the supermarket’s own-label lines.
“We are very excited to be the first multiple retailer to launch a website of this kind, with such an extensive range of products designed to meet the needs of all pet owners and animal lovers,” said Robert McCarthy, Waitrose head of direct services. “WaitrosePet provides our customers - 45% of whom are pet owners - with a convenient one-stop-shop for pets of all ages and breeds, whether they are looking for specialist food for a feline friend or a Christmas treat for man’s best friend.”
Delivery is free with a minimum £30 spend, and the website also offers a repeat ordering service that allows consumers to schedule an order to repeat as often as they choose.
To mark the launch of WaitrosePet, customers will receive 15% off their first order this month.
Online retailer Ocado launched petcare website fetch.com in May this year.
