Walkers is to celebrate its 70th anniversary by launching a selection of limited-edition crisps that reflect popular recipes of past decades, from the 1950s to the 2000s.
The six-strong lineup, to roll out from 18 March in single and multipack formats, comprises Coronation Chicken (1950s), Roast Lamb & Mint (1960s), Cheese Fondue (1970s), Chicken Tikka Masala (1980s), BBQ Rib (1990s) and Sweet Chili (2000s).
The core range of Walkers crisps will mark the occasion by carrying the message ‘Celebrating 70 years of the nation’s favourite’ – while two TV ads will appear in April, backed by digital content and in-store activation.
Walkers wanted to “thank the British public for the support that they have shown us over the decades” said Rachel Holms, senior marketing director at brand owner PepsiCo.
