The Advertising Standards Authority has partially upheld complaints that a Walkers crisps leaflet made misleading claims about salt levels in its crisps.
The leaflet said “we have reduced the salt in our crisps” and “our crisps now contain just 7% of your guideline daily amount of salt”.
The ASA ruled that from the leaflet, consumers would think that Walkers had cut salt levels in all of its crisps.
However, it cleared a poster campaign which claimed that a packet of ready salted crisps contained less salt than a slice of white bread.
