PepsiCo has ramped up its Walkers Sensations range of bagged snacks with the addition of Streetmix, a nut-based range that “takes inspiration from the street food scene of vibrant cities from around the world”.
Rolling out from 25 June, the new lineup comprises three variants: Mexico City (tortilla sticks, Mexican-style nuts, roasted & salted beans and chilli crackers), Mumbai (Indian-style crackers, curried nuts, black pepper rice sticks and spiced onion nuts) and Bangkok (sweet chilli crackers, coconut flakes, cashews and Thai lime-flavour pea snaps). The rsp is £2.50 for 88g-115g.
“The new and exotic range offers shoppers the opportunity to try something a little different whilst still offering a mouth-watering taste sensation,” said Tegan Philp-Hines, Walkers Sensations brand manager.
“Shoppers love Sensations, with over 50% repeatedly purchasing, and we are very excited about the potential of this range.”
The launch of Streetmix follows Sensations’ major overhaul last summer, which saw the introduction of “modern and stylish” packaging, new variants including Mango & Red Chilli Chutney poppadoms, and the ‘Feast for the Senses’ push featuring footage of Brazil’s Rio Carnival and the Holi Festival of Colours in India.
Value sales of Sensations crisps are flying at £89.8m, having grown by 13.2% [IRI 52 w/e 3 March 2017].
