A beer brand is expanding from Wales to New South Wales as Tomos Watkin secures distribution in Oz.
The Swansea-based Hurns Brewing Company has tied up a distribution deal to take its full range of bottles beers and ciders to Australia. The products will be distributed from Sydney, state capital of New South Wales.
The deal is the latest in a series of export wins that have seen Tomos Watkin Wales’ sold in America, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, France, Spain and Denmark. Seven ales are heading for Australia – Cwrw Haf, Cwrw Gaeaf, Cwrw Braf, Old Style Bitter, Cwrw Idris, Premier Ale, and Blodwen’s Beer - along with lager Magic Lagyr, and Taffy Apples and pear ciders.
“We are delighted Tomos Watkin ales are going to be available in Australia, a country that is renowned for its love of good beer,” says Connie Parry, chief executive of family-owned Hurns. “Exporting has become an important part of our business. We’re currently handling enquiries from Chile, and next month I will be travelling to Shanghai for one of the biggest food and drink trade events in China.”
The Tomos Watkin range is listed by UK supermarkets including Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Co-op.
