Asda has opened the first of its newly acquired standalone petrol stations from Rontec, launching the White Hart Lane Tottenham unit today.
This marks the first of 15 ex-Rontec sites that Asda will re-launch by summer 2015, to drive expansion in London and the South East and offer further click & collect sites. The retailer aims to open 100 standalone stations by the end of 2018.
Andy Clarke, Asda president, said: “We have set out a clear ambition to lead online and expand further into London and the South East. Click & Collect will allow us to bring Asda value to even more customers with the acquisition of these 15 new petrol stations.”
“Customers tell us that a convenient and great value shopping experience is important to them. Asda is known for its low fuel prices and has been a price leader across the board for 50 years.”
Senior manager for Asda North London and Essex Hassan Halane said: “Customers tell us that a convenient and great value shopping experience is important to them. Asda is known for its low fuel prices and has been a price leader across the board for 50 years, so we’re extremely excited to get open for business and start to benefit the local community.”
