William Reed, the publisher of The Grocer, has clinched a deal with the UK’s largest coupon and voucher services provider, Valassis, to offer visitors to the National Convenience Show exclusive deals through their preferred wholesaler.
The partnership comes after William Reed bought the trademark Pro-Retail from PwC last month, the administrators of Palmer & Harvey, for an undisclosed sum.
Pro-Retail was P&H’s trade show held annually in Telford, Shropshire, which offered manufacturers the opportunity to meet retailers, market their brands, give valuable insight and show deals to help them in their businesses.
The Valassis partnership will give exhibitors the opportunity to work with the coupon business to facilitate bespoke customer deals for the show that retailers can then redeem through their preferred wholesaler.
Retailers can then access these offers by visiting the relevant exhibitors at the show.
“Alongside our continued relationship with the ACS, this partnership with Valassis highlights our committed support to the convenience and small-format sector,” said Andrew Reed, a divisional managing director at William Reed.
“This not only protects the like-for-like sales that suppliers would have seen previously at Pro-Retail, but also ensures retailers maximise the benefit that they see from the show.”
