William Reed Business Media, publisher of The Grocer, has announced new dates for its UK Food Shows at the NEC, Birmingham later this year.
Following the instigation of the third national lockdown, the event – which will comprise Food & Drink Expo, Farm Shop & Deli Show, The Ingredients Show, Foodex, National Convenience Show and The Forecourt Show – is now scheduled for 5-7 July 2021.
It had previously been set for 12-14 April, having been twice postponed in 2020 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
The latest change of date had been positively received by the industry, said William Reed. Exhibitors and visitors could now look forward to coming together in July, uniting the worlds of food development, grocery, manufacturing, specialist retail, wholesale and foodservice.
The UK Food & Drink Shows will bring together more than 1,000 leading brands. William Reed has worked closely with the Association of Event Organisers in developing the industry-wide All Secure Standard of hygiene and safety, allowing the summer event to operate effectively and safely according to government and local authority guidance.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has tested our business as it has the businesses of our exhibitors and visitors, and we’re delighted we have managed to secure new dates in July at the NEC,” said Andrew Reed, William Reed MD for events & exhibitions.
“No one is better placed or more experienced to deliver safe and inspiring live events, and no other event in 2021 will have the laser-guided sector focus, breadth of exhibitors, content and innovation,” he added.
“We look forward to the summer as a time of great celebration, of new ways of thinking, new products, new attitudes and a new start for our industry. We can’t wait to once again welcome exhibitors and visitors to the NEC.”
