With Andy Murray kicking off the defence of his Wimbledon title this week, staff at Waitrose have been preparing for the rush on strawberries and cream. The retailer predicts sales of the fruit will double during the tournament, with cream set to be up 12% . “It’s our busiest time of year for the quintessential strawberry. Thanks to the good weather, we have a bumper crop of British strawberries to help meet demand,” said buyer Nicki Baggott.
