John Lusty subsidiary Trustin Unimerchants is being wound down after receivers failed to find a buyer interested in the business as a going concern.
Key brands in the Lusty stable have already found alternative distributors and taken some staff with them, but there are likely to be several redundancies at the Ely headquarters, said joint administrative receiver William Tacon.
Bonne Maman jam maker Andros stressed it was business as usual. "We are financially independent of TU," said country manager Alistair Chrystal. "They were handling storage and collection of our goods from France, but a third party delivered them. We're in negotiations to take on the Trustin functions."
Other key Lusty brands are making similar arrangements, added Chrystal.
Lusty subsidiary Foodfinders has been snapped up by Fosters Traditional Foods.
Mike Cook will remain at the helm of Foodfinders, which will operate as an autonomous organisation in the enlarged Fosters group.
Fosters has bought a selection of brands including Ryne Confectionery, John Lusty, Boulevard Snacks, Langdales and Olivette.
