Encouraged by the success of the launch of six Stowells of Chelsea wines in bottles last autumn, Grants of St James's is introducing a further six.
"We've sold half a million bottles since launch and the rate of sale is excellent. In a number of stores they are outperforming the number one wine brand," said senior brand manager Claire Griffiths.
Three of the new collection are not taken from the box range and will only be found in 75cl bottles. They are a Malbec Tempranillo from Argentina and two Californians, a Ruby Cabernet Zinfandel and Chardonnay Colombard.
The other three are an unoaked Chardonnay and a Mataro Shiraz from Australia and a South African Cinsault Pinotage. They will all retail between £3.99 and £4.49.
The £3.50 to £5 sector is now the fastest growing in the wine market and Nielsen reports the top 10 brands last year claimed a 19.7% value share of the off-trade market and increased value sales by 40%.
