Australian producer Cranswick is increasing support for Image, its latest wine range aimed at fashion-conscious women.
The company is spending £250,000 on a poster campaign in London and national magazine advertising.
Company spokesman Chris Hothersall said the plan was to make Image as successful as the company's flagship Barramundi wines which have annual case sales of 425,000.
"Image is a very different brand," he said. "We have identified a huge gap in the market and have specifically aimed these wines at women. They account for 70% of wine purchases because they are the ones who take it off the shelves."
The range comprises Cabernet Merlot, Chardonnay and Verdelho (rsp £4.99).
