Oriental foods specialist Wing Yip will continue its growth with a sixth outlet in Nottingham, expected to be built by 2009.
The company is currently redeveloping its store in Cricklewood, north London, due to be completed by the end of 2007. It will then begin construction of a fifth store in Cardiff, planned for completion by 2008, after which it anticipates work in Nottingham will begin.
Founder and chairman Wing Yip said: "We plan to open in Nottingham and are considering several sites." He added that demand was growing from an increasingly adventurous native-born British population, as well as Wing Yip's traditional immigrant customer base.
Wing Yip was 30th in The Grocer's 2006 Big 30 wholesaler rankings with turnover of £97m. Besides its store at Cricklewood, the company's existing outlets are located in Birmingham, Manchester and Croydon.
