Wing Yip is carrying out a major development of its Birmingham business park, the site of its original Chinese supermarket.
The 1.7 acre business centre is undergoing the facelift ahead of its 50th anniversary next year, said the wholesaler.
So far it has knocked down the onsite restaurant in order to make way for a more open landscaped space with a new parade of 11 retail units, due to open this summer.
Wing Yip is currently in discussions to fill the units with various food operators, retailers and offices.
“Our Wing Yip Business Centre is an integral part of the Birmingham community and is focused on providing a range of specialist services to the Chinese and non-Chinese communities alike,” said Wing Yip director Brian Yip.
“From Chinese and Oriental restaurants to bakers, healthcare and legal services, our sites are home to a number of local businesses and demand for our units continues to grow.
“Our renovation will create additional space and will allow us to grow our commercial offering as we enter our 50th anniversary year.”
During the renovations to the Wing Yip Business Centre, the Wing Yip superstore and surrounding businesses remain unaffected and will be open as usual
