Respect for flags caught out Robert Wiseman Dairies, whose World Cup limited edition milk cartons, featuring pictures of flags from around the world, went down like a lead balloon with Muslim retailers and shoppers. The problem carton was the one featuring the Saudi Arabian flag  which contains writings from the Koran. Muslim law states that anything with words from the Koran written on it must be disposed of respectfully  by burning or throwing into running water. A stream of angry complaints started as the World Cup got under way. Wiseman sales and marketing director Sandy Wilkie quickly consulted the Muslim community and hit on a compromise  to put stickers over the offending cartons. Relations have now been smoothed over, but Wilkie isn't going to forget the Wiseman World Cup in a hurry. {{COUNTERPOINT }}
